Netanyahu arrives in India and greeted on tarmac by PM Modi in a surprise. Israeli leader says he greatly appreciates unplanned personal welcome; two men embraced warmly at start of their week-long visit.

Prime Minister (Netanyahu) received a rare “cultural roadshow” in Gujarat. On Wednesday, in Ahmedabad, in the Indian state of Gujarat, Netanyahu experienced something completely different. Tens of thousands of Indians lined the eight-kilometer road from the airport to the Ashram of Mahatma Gandhi. They were dancing, singing, cheering, clapping, waving Israeli and Indian flags and excitedly waving as the Netanyahu motorcade drove past.

Netanyahu said India and Israel are “challenged by radical Islam and its terrorist offshoots from a variety of corners.” The prime minister (Netanyahu) will visit the Chabad center where Israel Hayom’s parents were gunned down as 10 Muslim terrorists rampaged through Mumbai in a three-day siege in 2008.
