Mumbai is seeing heavy rainfall today

Mumbai is seeing heavy rainfall, leaving various parts of the city severely waterlogged. The suburbs are bearing the brunt as Santacruz saw 86 mm rainfall in just three hours, starting at 8:30 am. Colaba, on the other hand, recorded 15-16 mm rainfall in the same time period, according to official data.
While the Indian Meteorological Department has assured Mumbaikars that today is not going to be another 26/7, Mumbaikars are taking no chances. Office goers are leaving early to reach home, while schools and colleges have shut for the day. But commuting is becoming an issue as railway stations are flooded, trains are suspended and roads are jam-packed.
Khar, Santacruz, Andheri, Dadar, Matunga are among the places that are severely waterlogged. Subway near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Bandra station are under water. People in low-lying areas are being asked to evacuate.
The IMD has issued a “heavy to very heavy rainfall” warning across Maharashtra and the BMC is asking people to stay indoors.For any emergency related to rains, dial BMC Control Room 1916
